I feel like this is the first time Detective Michael Mouse sees her. He's trailing a baddie at some smancy-fancy function, done up nice in a tux. He's all focused and uncomfortable, surrounded by members of the Mafia. I bet Goofy is tripping around, they're both trailing Pete. Then he see's her, the loveliest creature he's ever laid eyes on. Golly, she's pretty. He tries to catch her name, starts following her discretely. She's demure, sweet as she talks to various guests. His snarky heart melts. Just as he gets close enough to say--say what? Anything, everything!--BAM! He smacks right into a tall thin frame. Minnie jumps a little as the figure whirls around, snarling at Mickey. It's Mortimer. He and Mick get into their first (of many) altercations, and Mort leads Minnie away with a smug grin and snide comment. But that's not the last he'll see of the Detective...
I think Mick would end up saving Minnie from her bad relationship and her unwilling involvement in Pete's criminal ring. They'd go on dates to the cinema, dance-halls (this is circa 1940s in my head), picnics, the pier. She'd be the first one to call him Mickey. :3
Wow, sorry for that there rant Love your work, as always!
The calm, elegant grace of this picture is just lovely. The way the dress curls around her just so, that perfectly simple background pattern, her look of soft, almost-melancholy fascination...it just all works to make this very compelling, gentle piece and I love it a lot. <3
I really like the curl of her dress, gives off a toga-ish feel while at the same time having a dress form from a different era. I like the flowery and vine details, the ear decorations, and the demure blush on her cheeks. She's so sweet and cute!
